Our Projects

PT Ground Solutions were instructed to carryout a comprehensive ground investigation to support the development of a new Wind Farm in Ayrshire. PT Ground Solutions in partnership with their drilling contractor Bainbridge Bros, drilled 15 No. Rotary boreholes at proposed turbine locations along with 50 No. trial pits. In addition, PT Ground Solutions also carried out Dynamic Cone Penetration (DCP) testing along the proposed new access tracks.

Clashindarroch Wind Farm is another new development / extension to the existing Wind Farm. PT Ground Solutions were again, working with the same client and our trusted drilling partner Bainbridge Bros to drill 8 No. Rotary boreholes, 20 No. trial pits, hand dug pits and DCP testing along proposed access routes. We also had to carryout our own enabling works to gain access to the forestry areas. We utilised specialist access rigs and plant with wide tracks to overcome the difficult terrain. The ground investigation was delivered ahead of time and within budget during November and December 2025 in challenging snow and freezing conditions. 

The Kintore project is a major new overhead line connection delivered by SSEN Transmission. SSEN state that 'In order to support the continued growth in onshore and offshore renewables across the north of Scotland, supporting the country's drive towards Net Zero, investment in network infrastructure is needed to connect this renewable power and transport it from source to areas of demand across the country'. PT Ground Solutions are proud to support this project and are carrying out soil resistivity testing at all of the new build tower locations. PT Ground Solutions are also carrying out tower footing resistivity testing at exiting towers, using industry leading equipment capable of taking earth resistance measurements without the need to disconnect overhead earth cables.

PT Ground Solutions were given the opportunity to carryout a Tower Footing Resistivity test on an existing tower as part of the National Grid Yorkshire Green Project. The testing provided valuable information for the suitability of the testing process, which could be taken forward for use on other projects.
